Dallas Love Field (DAL) is the 31st-busiest airport in the United States and busiest medium-hub airport despite its federally mandated cap of 20 gates. In 2018, Love Field surpassed 8 million enplaned passengers for the first time. The airport is the major operating base of Southwest Airlines.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love Field is perfect for when I want a busy session but don’t want to spend 20 minutes just taxiing a plane to the runway. Everything is close together, so you have to be really on point with your ground commands to avoid a gridlock. The ground markings are spot on and the voice recognition hasn’t missed a ‘Southwest’ call yet.

Dallas Love Field has a single terminal with 20 gates, numbered 1-20. Alaska Airlines and Delta Air Lines lease one gate each, while Southwest leases the remaining eighteen gates.

In June 2022, the airport completed major renovations that included converting the old runway 18/36 into a taxiway and resurfacing Runway 13R/31L.
The airport played an extensive role for the military back in World War I and World War II.
